My cat passed away yesterday. Those who know me know that Nin has been my constant companion for the past 15 years, and she has acted as my daughter’s guardian ever since we brought her home as a newborn. She had been sick for the past few months, but we felt that as long as she begged for cheddar, she was still ok.
Yesterday, we woke to find her in visible distress. She died in my arms on our way to the vet.

    My heart goes out to you. I lost my cat Simon a couple years ago, I think…I had had him longer than my husband at the time he passed (he was I think 17). It is hard to loose a beloved pet, especially when they are such a big part of your life. What surprised me most with Simon was how like the grieving process for a person was. People often are not prepared for that part of it. Whatever your grieving process needs to be and where it takes you is OK. Peace indeed…my prayers are with you and your family as you recover from your loss.
